Sweetpea and Cuddles were our family’s tiny Budgerigars, though small they showered us with love.
Sweetpea was all yellow with little white cheeks. She had a big and bold personality and was never shy. Every morning, Sweetpea hopped onto my bed, chirping, “I love you, my Snoopsy!” and eagerly asking me if I am going to have my breakfast. She also loved to sit on my wrist and hold my pencil while I drew.
Cuddles was green with a little yellow and blue cheeks. He was very fluffy and loved to snuggle. Cuddles loved to cuddle up under my chin, purring like a cat as I gently rubbed his head with my nose. He loved green thai curry, and would hold the chopstick and eat the rice off the end of the stick. He also would like to sit in my dad’s slippers at the back door.
Writing the Sweetpea and Cuddles stories was something that my mother and I has started 20 years ago but sadly she passed away. Writing these books is in loving memory to her and Sweetpea and Cuddles.
